Standing with families after the August floods

On 26 August 2026, flash floods swept down the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers and devastated communities in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading. Thousands of families and children lost their homes, and schools, roads and bridges were destroyed.
Childreach Nepal is one of six local organisations supported by Global Fund for Children’s Nepal Floods Emergency Fund, alongside United Community Nepal, Peace for People, Bloom School Nepal, Kopila Nepal and Partnership for Sustainable Development (PSD).
The fund supports emergency relief, learning recovery for children whose schooling was disrupted, shelter, psychosocial support and community learning centres.
“It allows us to respond more quickly to the needs we are seeing in communities.”
Ahshia Sherchan, Programme Manager, Childreach Nepal
